Real Madrid Is Observing ‘Sevillas Increasing Defense
Real Madrid may be in search of a new defender during the January transfer window,
prompted by a defensive injury crisis in the Spanish capital that is expected to alter their
mid-season plans, contrary to Carlo Ancelotti’s initial intentions.
While Ancelotti initially suggested exploring a loan deal to address the
absences of Eder Militao and David Alaba, he has since expressed willingness to redeploy other players.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Ancelotti’s decision, the club is prepared to allocate funds, potentially making a move with a focus on the future.
According to the latest reports from Diario AS, Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez remains
an ongoing option due to his ability to play both at full back and in central defense.
The 20-year-old has progressed through the youth ranks at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan
and secured a spot in the first team this season after a loan spell at Mirandes
in the 2022/23 campaign. Sanchez is currently valued at approximately
€8m, but his release clause stands at €20m, with Sevilla unlikely to accept an offer below the latter amount.
