“Celtic Secures ‘Done Deal’ for Rapid Vienna Winger Nicolas Kuhn in £2 Million Transfer Triumph”
The acquisition of Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn by Celtic is now
confirmed, according to sources reported by Football Insider.
The Hoops have reportedly reached a
comprehensive agreement for the 24-year-old German,
with final touches being applied to complete the transfer.
Celtic has already secured a work permit for Kuhn, and only minor paperwork details remain before the deal is finalized.
Valued at over £2 million, the transfer is considered a significant success by Celtic’s leadership.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has prioritized Kuhn as a key target this month, impressed by the player’s notable performances in the Austrian top flight.
With two goals and five assists in 16 league appearances this season,
Kuhn’s skill in chance creation addresses a need for Celtic, who have faced challenges in this area during the current campaign.
Kuhn, formerly of Ajax, joined Rapid Vienna in the summer
of 2022 for a reported fee of £500,000 from Bayern Munich, where he spent time exclusively with the reserve squad. Known for his versatility, Kuhn primarily operates on
the right wing but has demonstrated success on both flanks, in attacking midfield, and as a center-forward throughout his career.
Born in 2000, Kuhn has represented Germany at various youth
levels, making his last appearance for the under-20s in November 2019.
Celtic, currently leading the Scottish top-flight, is set to face Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup on January 21 following the winter break.
