“New Orleans Saints Duo Earn All-Pro Honors: Rashid Shaheed on First Team, Demario Davis Secures Second Team Spot”

Two players from the New Orleans Saints secured spots on the Associated Press All-Pro Team, according to the recent announcement. Rashid Shaheed, a wide receiver and return specialist, earned a position on the first team as a punt returner. Meanwhile, linebacker Demario Davis secured a spot on the second team. Notably, Davis joins Jahri Evans as the only second Saint to achieve All-Pro recognition five times consecutively and is a finalist for the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This marks the seventh consecutive season that the Saints have had at least one All-Pro selection. Shaheed, who was signed by the Saints after the 2022 NFL Draft, had an impressive season, ranking second in the NFC and third in the NFL for punt return average (13.6). He also earned a Pro Bowl start as a return specialist, showcasing his versatility by contributing on offense with 46 receptions for 719 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, he had a notable punt return of 76 yards for a touchdown against Green Bay on September 24.

In his two seasons with the Saints, Shaheed has demonstrated consistent performance in both punt and kick returns, as well as offensive contributions. On the other hand, Demario Davis, a 12-year NFL veteran, secured his fifth consecutive All-Pro selection and fifth overall. Leading the Saints in tackles for the sixth consecutive season in 2023, Davis showcased his defensive prowess with 121 stops, 6.5 sacks, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Other Saints players, including cornerback Paulson Adebo, defensive back J.T. Gray (special teams), and long snapper Zach Wood, also received votes for the All-Pro Team.
