“Rangers Positioned for January Move as ‘Good Offer’ Extended to Benfica’s David Jurasek Amid Bundesliga Competition”

Rangers have submitted a compelling proposal to secure the loan signing

of Benfica defender David Jurasek in the upcoming

January transfer window, as per reports from TEAMtalk on January 17.

Despite facing competition from a Bundesliga club, Rangers find

themselves in a strong negotiating position after initiating the process.

Sources suggest that Jurasek is receptive to the idea of a move to Scotland,

and the potential deal might be finalized as early as next week.

Benfica’s preference is for a loan arrangement.

The move is seen as a strategic response to the need for a primary

replacement in the left-back position, a position acknowledged

by manager Clement as a current weakness.

Both Ridvan Yilmaz and Borna Barisic, linked with transfers,

have led to a heightened focus on reinforcing this area.

Barisic’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season,

necessitating the identification of a new left-back before summer.

Despite his limited appearances for Benfica since joining from

Slavia Prague in the summer, Jurasek, aged 23, brings Champions

League experience and has earned five caps with the Czech Republic.

His goal-scoring capability, with nine goals at the senior

level, positions him as a potential attacking full-back option,

similar to James Tavernier’s role on the right flank.

Rangers hope that their early offer will sway Benfica in their favor

before other clubs, including a Bundesliga team and several English clubs, can secure his services.

Additionally, there is an update on a £4.8 million bid in Rangers’ pursuit of a January signing.
