Rangers Transfer Update: Ridvan Yilmaz Yet to Finalize Personal Agreement for January Move
Yagiz Sabuncuoglu emphasizes that Ridvan Yilmaz’s representatives have not finalized an agreement with Galatasaray regarding a January transfer from Rangers.
Despite rumors linking the Turkish defender to both Galatasaray and
Verona this month, Sabuncuoglu reveals that Philippe Clement is not inclined
to lose the left-back before January concludes.
The Light Blues would consider Yilmaz’s departure only for a
fee exceeding £4.3 million [€5 million] this month.
Speaking on the Sports Digitale YouTube channel, Sabuncuoglu
states that Yilmaz rejected Galatasaray’s offer, and
Clement has no intention of loaning him to the Turkish club.
According to Yilmaz’s entourage, no agreements with any
team have been reached yet. Sabuncuoglu points out that
Galatasaray would need to secure a loan with a mandatory
purchase option, and the fee must not fall below €5 million.
Yilmaz remains an essential part of Rangers’ current squad,
debunking the perception that the club wishes to part ways with him.
Sabuncuoglu mentions the potential transfer to Verona, noting that foreign press reports have hinted at the cancellation of that move.
While Rangers ideally want to retain Yilmaz beyond January, the possibility of a significant fee, such as the suggested £4.3 million, could lead to a deal.
Rangers’ reluctance to sell puts them in a strong negotiating position, especially considering the absence of a finalized agreement
between Yilmaz and Galatasaray regarding personal terms.
The hope is to keep Yilmaz at Ibrox, but if a transfer occurs, Rangers could secure a substantial amount for his services.
