Rangers‘ midfielder, Alex Lowry, has had his loan stint at Hearts terminated prematurely, with the 20-year-old now back at Ibrox.
The official confirmation of this decision came from the Edinburgh club on Friday night, with head coach and former Rangers’ player Steven Naismith clarifying that the choice was made by Hearts, not the parent club.
Naismith explained the decision was based on Alex’s best interests, emphasizing the intense competition within their squad as a hindrance to his playing time.
Despite recognizing Lowry’s talents and contributions, Naismith expressed doubt about his potential for further development due to limited game time.
He conveyed appreciation for Lowry’s efforts at Hearts and extended well wishes for his future endeavors.
During his time at Hearts, the 20-year-old scored one goal in 20 appearances across various competitions.
