“Rangers Open to Ridvan Yilmaz Sale for £3-4 Million Amid Interest from Italian Clubs and Galatasaray

Rangers are open to selling Ridvan Yilmaz during this transfer

window if they receive an offer ranging from £3-4 million, according to sources disclosed to Football Insider.

The club aims to reinvest any potential proceeds into acquiring a new left-back.

Yilmaz, the 22-year-old Turkey international, has garnered interest from Italian clubs and Turkish giants Galatasaray, eager to bring him back to his home nation.

In the recent edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that talks have commenced between Yilmaz and Serie A side Verona, indicating progress in a potential deal to bring him to Italy.

Due to operating on a limited budget this month, manager Philippe

Clement’s side may need to sell players, including Yilmaz, before securing any permanent recruits.

Rangers had acquired the left-back from Besiktas for a reported

£5 million in the summer of 2022, demonstrating their willingness

to accept a loss on the player to facilitate new deals in the current transfer window.

With Yilmaz expected to depart and uncertainty surrounding the future

of Borna Barisic, whose contract expires at the end of the season amid

reported interest from Leeds United, Rangers are prioritizing the signing of a left-back in January.

Football Insider also revealed that the club is actively pursuing

a move to sign FC Twente left-back Gijs Smal this month,

following the collapse of their efforts to acquire Josh Doig.

As Rangers currently sit in second place in the league with two

games in hand over Celtic, who are eight points ahead, their attention

now turns to the Scottish Cup, where they

will face fourth-tier side Dumbarton in the fourth round on Saturday evening (20 January).
