“Veteran Defensive Tackle Johnathan Hankins Expresses Strong Desire for Return to Dallas Cowboys in 2024 Amidst Impending Free Agency”

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are facing the departure

of 16 players from the 2023 roster as they enter the offseason, with veteran defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins being one of the notable figures.

Hankins, whose initial contract with the Cowboys has concluded

after nearly two seasons, shared a 21-minute video on his YouTube account on Saturday night.

In the video, he discussed his upcoming free agency and

expressed his desire to return to Dallas for the next season.

“I believe I brought valuable contributions to this team,” Hankins stated.

“Being part of an organization like this, I still have the energy to contribute.

In my 11th year, I’m playing at a high level and delivering results.”

He emphasized that he feels he has unfinished business

and unmet goals, particularly aspiring to reach the Super Bowl, preferably with the Cowboys.

Hankins revealed that he had contemplated retirement in the previous offseason, citing a desire to spend more time with his family, especially with his daughter turning two.

However, the opportunity in Dallas rejuvenated his career.

“Last offseason, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep playing,” he admitted.

“My daughter was turning two, and I felt the need to be with my family.

Bringing in young guys like Mazi, being with Law, Micah, DA, Osa… it reignited a passion in me.”

While retirement thoughts linger this offseason, Hankins expressed confidence in his ability to maintain a high level of play and his determination to achieve his ultimate goal.

“Will this be the last time you see Big Hank? I don’t think so,” he declared.

“After discussions with the Cowboys, with Mike [McCarthy] and the staff, it’s evident that I’m still performing at a high level and want to continue playing.”

Although he expressed a desire to return to Dallas,

Hankins acknowledged that free agency is a two-way process, and the negotiations will play a crucial role in determining his presence on the Cowboys’ roster in 2024.

“We’ll see how everything unfolds, the discussions, and everything else,” he stated.

“The journey doesn’t conclude here.”
