“Aston Villa Pursues Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers in £10-12m Deal as Transfer Saga Intensifies”
Morgan Rogers, who recently joined Middlesbrough in August from Manchester City, might return to the Premier League during the remaining January window, with Aston Villa showing a keen interest.
The ongoing transfer saga suggests Villa could secure Rogers for a
fee ranging from £10 million to £12 million.
Middlesbrough’s preference is for the deal to be finalized in the coming days,
with Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick currently focused on
the EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea.
A recent report from Football Insider indicates that Villa has submitted two bids for the midfielder, the initial offer being rejected, and Middlesbrough insisting on their £10 million valuation.
Fabrizio Romano believes Villa is persistent in pursuing Rogers as their main signing of the January transfer window. Despite Villa’s interest,
Middlesbrough holds control as Rogers is under contract until 2027, and the club remains in a strong position regarding negotiations.
Rogers, who has contributed significantly to Middlesbrough’s EFL Cup run, faces considerations about potential limited game time at Villa, given recent sales of homegrown talent Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene.
