“Everton Under-21s Set to Resume Premier League International Cup Campaign Against Benfica After Mid-Winter Break”

Everton’s Under-21 team is set to resume action on Wednesday evening following an extended mid-winter break. They will face Benfica Under-21s at Finch Farm,

with the match scheduled to kick off at 7pm GMT.

Paul Tait’s team aims to continue their unbeaten streak in the

Premier League International Cup, which was temporarily halted due to the break.

Their last match was a goalless draw against Feyenoord in Southport.

A notable point of interest is whether Reece Welsh,

who was recently recalled from a season-long loan at Forest

Green Rovers, will play a role in the upcoming match or if he is

bound for another loan spell for the remainder of the season.

In the current standings, Everton U21s occupy the third position

in Group C, trailing behind Crystal Palace, while Fulham has

already secured the top spot in the group with four wins against the same continental opponents.

A victory in the upcoming match could propel Everton to a second-place finish in the group.

It’s important to note that the four English

Category A development teams in each group face their European counterparts only once at home.

The top two teams from each of the three groups, along with the two best third-placed teams, will progress to the quarter-finals.
