Originally a seventh-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2021, Farniok displayed promise in special teams and sporadic offensive line duties, participating in 12 games during his rookie season.

Despite starting seven games in his second year and showcasing

versatility across the interior line, he faced challenges in pass protection during the preseason.

T.J. Bass, a rookie from Oregon, ultimately won the spot over Farniok, contributing significantly due to injuries in the offensive line.

While Bass’s Pro Football Focus grades were modest, they surpassed Farniok’s from the previous year. Farniok had a brief stint with the Bears after his release in September

but returned to the Lions’ practice squad as an emergency option.
