“Enniskillen Rangers Ends Tummery Athletic’s Unbeaten Run with Comeback Victory in League Clash”

Enniskillen Rangers handed reigning champions Tummery Athletic their first league defeat of the season, staging a comeback from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory at Crawford’s Lane on Saturday.

This marked Tummery’s initial league loss since November 2022, coincidentally another 2-1 defeat against Enniskillen Rangers, and their first home defeat since March 2022 against Killen.

Rangers’ manager Michael Kerr acknowledged the significance of this must-win match, tightening the competition at the top of the table.

Tummery and Enniskillen Town are level on 27 points, with Dromore having played a game less, while Enniskillen Rangers trail by one point, having played the same number of games as Town.

Kesh is trailing just behind, three points adrift of Rangers but with two games in hand.

Kerr emphasized the importance of building on this win, recognizing it as a crucial step in challenging for the title. The upcoming Enniskillen derby against second-placed Town provides an opportunity for Rangers to climb into second spot.

Tummery’s player-manager, Ryan Hanna, expressed disappointment at losing their unbeaten record, attributing the defeat to Rangers’ ability to capitalize on their chances.

Despite the loss, Hanna is optimistic about bouncing back in the upcoming match against Magheraveely.

In a closely contested match, Tummery took the lead with Colm Garrity’s finish, but Rangers equalized through Jason Keenan.

Joel Byrne then secured the lead for Rangers before halftime. Tummery had chances to level, but Rangers defended resolutely to claim the crucial three points.
