“Everton Eyes Young Midfield Talent: Transfer Expert Reveals Potential Move for Adam Wharton Amidst Quiet January Window”

Everton has maintained a quiet stance in the current January transfer window, with no incoming or outgoing transfers as anticipated.

Despite the lack of activity, rumors persist about potential signings at Goodison Park.

Graeme Bailey, a transfer expert from HITC Football, spoke exclusively to Everton News, hinting at a young star the Toffees might pursue either in January or the summer.

Addressing speculations about Amadou Onana’s departure, Bailey suggested that the Belgian midfielder is unlikely to leave soon, and Everton may still be in the market for another midfielder.

He mentioned Adam Wharton, a 19-year-old midfielder, currently the subject of a bid from Crystal Palace. Bailey indicated that Everton has shown interest in Wharton, praising the player as a fantastic talent.

However, Bailey dismissed the notion of contingency plans for Onana’s departure, emphasizing that he doesn’t see any club paying £60 million for Onana, especially not in January.

Describing Adam Wharton’s abilities, Bailey highlighted him as an all-action midfielder with a reported £18.5 million bid from Crystal Palace.

Wharton’s skills include an 85% pass accuracy, 1.3 key passes per game, and an impressive contribution of two goals and three assists in the league.

Bailey expressed optimism about Everton potentially securing Wharton but acknowledged that the financial aspect would play a crucial role in making the transfer happen.
