“Rangers Target Bristol City’s FA Cup Sensation Tommy Conway, Facing Hefty £7 Million Valuation”
Rangers Eye Bristol City’s FA Cup Star Tommy Conway, But a Hefty £7 Million Price Tag Raises Stakes
Rangers have shown keen interest in Bristol City’s FA Cup standout, Tommy Conway, following his impressive performance against West Ham United in the third round.
However, former Scotland international Peter Grant suggests that securing Conway’s
talents may come with a significant price tag, estimating a fee around £7 million.
Conway, the Scotland under-21 striker, gained attention with a three-minute goal against West Ham, drawing interest not only from Rangers but also from English Premier League clubs like
Nottingham Forest, Wolves, and Brentford.
Grant, acknowledging Conway’s talent, emphasizes the financial challenge
Rangers might face in pursuing the Bristol City striker.
He anticipates a substantial fee comparable to the amounts earned by Bristol City for
other players like Alex Scott, Antoine Semenyo, and Adam Webster, all now playing in the Premier League.
Grant speculates that, despite only a couple of standout performances, Conway’s market
value could reach £6 or £7 million, fueled by his recent television exposure in the FA Cup clash against West Ham.
Conway, often likened to Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, has scored 20 goals for Bristol City since
the beginning of the last term.
While Rangers have made recent signings, including Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves and Mohamed Diomande, reports suggest they are closing in on a new left-back, potentially Jefte from Fluminense,
not Cameron Pring, Conway’s Bristol City teammate.
