Leeds United’s Transfer Update: Whites Pursue Everton and Seek Winger
Recent Updates on Leeds United Transfers and Rumors as Deadline Approaches Next Week.
Leeds United urgently require defensive reinforcements before the January transfer window concludes, and they
appear to have identified Everton’s Ben Godfrey as a potential solution. According to Football Insider, Leeds has
formally approached the 26-year-old with the intention of securing him on loan until the season’s end.
Godfrey has reportedly been made available for departure from Goodison Park this month as part of Sean Dyche’s
efforts to reduce the club’s wage bill, attracting interest from several clubs. The latest report suggests Leeds’ interest
has now become official, with the club endeavoring to finalize a deal before the transfer window shuts on Thursday
evening.
Leeds United are emerging as the frontrunners to secure the signing of Burnley winger Manuel Benson. Hull City’s
prospects of securing a deal for Benson are diminishing, as reported by our affiliate site Hull Live. Increasing
speculation suggests that Leeds is ahead of several Championship clubs in the pursuit of the player.
At the start of the month, Hull City reached a verbal agreement with Burnley to secure the services of the Belgian
winger on a loan basis until the season’s conclusion. However, the final decision rested with the player, who wished
to evaluate his options as the month progressed. It appears that a move to Hull is not his preferred choice, and Leeds
are reportedly prepared to capitalize on this situation.
Having played in three of Burnley’s first five Premier League games, Benson has been restricted to just 12 minutes of
top-flight action since but was on the bench in the draw at home to Luton Town last time out and has been told he
can leave Turf Moor in search of regular football by Vincent Kompany.
