Ruben Amorim move to Liverpool thrown out
Liverpool has not made any overtures to Ruben Amorim’s agent regarding a potential summer move to succeed Jurgen Klopp, according to reports from Record via Sport Witness.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager, currently with Sporting CP,
has been rumored as a possible candidate if he departs his current position. However, no formal contacts have been established as of now.
The search for Klopp’s successor at Liverpool is crucial, considering the significant role he played at the club.
While media initially linked Amorim, along with other notable names like
Ange Postecoglou, to the position immediately after Klopp’s announcement, doubts have arisen about the authenticity of these connections.
Amorim’s potential availability for Liverpool has been discussed, especially if Sporting
CP doesn’t secure any titles this season.
Although the Portuguese manager has been linked to the Premier League before,
such as with Tottenham last summer, the current report dismisses the accuracy of the Liverpool links, as no approaches have been made to Amorim’s agent at this point.
While refuting the current speculation about the Merseyside job, the report
does not rule out the possibility of future discussions.
Amorim is recognized as one of the brightest tacticians, known for his high-octane style of football, making him a potential option for Liverpool.
However, for now, it seems the 39-year-old is focused on his role with Sporting CP.
Liverpool is actively seeking a high-profile replacement for Klopp, with Xabi
Alonso reportedly being prioritized as their primary target. Speculation suggests
that the former midfielder might have a clause allowing him to take over at former clubs.
