Leon Balogun, the “warrior” of the Rangers, is doubly disappointed by the Ibrox injury blow.
Leon Balogun remains undeterred by a facial bone fracture and is determined to continue playing for Rangers, according to manager Philippe Clement.
The 35-year-old defender had to be substituted in the first half during Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Livingston after a clash with Shaun Donnellan.
Despite the potential setback, Clement praised Balogun as a “warrior” and expressed confidence that he would return to the field soon, likely wearing a protective mask upon medical clearance.
Acknowledging the seriousness of the injury, Clement mentioned that Balogun may have broken something in his face.
However, the positive aspect is the player’s resilience and experience in dealing with such situations in the past. Clement hopes that Balogun, who has been a key choice in defense, will make a speedy recovery with the assistance of a protective mask, pending approval from the medical staff.
This development comes after Balogun was excluded from Rangers’ Europa League squad, with only three changes allowed for the second half of the season.
The manager’s comments reflect the team’s reliance on Balogun’s experience and dedication to overcome challenges.
