Everton: Michail Antonio threatens Neal Maupay that his on-field antics would one day earn him a “Beaten Up”
West Ham striker Michail Antonio has issued a warning to Everton loanee Neal Maupay regarding his on-field behavior, suggesting that he could face consequences if he continues with his antics.
During an episode of the ‘Footballers’ Football Podcast’ alongside Fulham captain Tom Cairney, Antonio labeled Maupay as the most disliked player in the Premier League, citing recent incidents involving James
Maddison and Kyle Walker.
Antonio humorously suggested that Maupay might risk getting “beaten up” if he persists with his provocative actions on the pitch.
Describing Maupay as a provocative player, Antonio acknowledged that while Maupay’s behavior might be effective for him, there could come a time when his actions provoke a strong reaction from an opponent.
Antonio jokingly advised Maupay to consider practicing kickboxing as a precaution.
Meanwhile, there’s relief among Everton fans that Maupay, who struggled during his time at the club, has left for Brentford.
Despite his success at Brentford this season with seven goals, Everton supporters view Maupay’s departure as a positive move for the club.
Maupay’s limited contribution during his time at Everton, coupled with the team’s struggles on and off the pitch, make his absence a welcome development.
With Everton reportedly set to benefit financially from bonuses linked to Maupay’s performances at Brentford, there’s hope that his successful spell there will lead to a permanent deal.
While Maupay’s on-pitch behavior might provide entertainment for neutral observers, Everton fans are unlikely to wish for his return given the challenges the team has faced this season.
