TNT Sports insulted Everton for what they did prior to their matchup with Manchester City.
It’s been a challenging season for Everton fans, with numerous frustrating decisions and perspectives coming to light off the field.
The club faced a ten-point deduction for an FFP breach last season, despite presenting
mitigating factors to explain the situation. Additionally, they were charged for a second time while an appeal
process was still ongoing.
Furthermore, the Premier League’s acknowledgment of a two-tier system, distinguishing
between “big clubs” and “small clubs,” has left Everton feeling unfairly categorized among the latter.
There have also been grievances regarding TV scheduling, with little consideration given to fans traveling to games or those with commitments outside of the match schedule.
This sentiment was reinforced by TNT Sports, whose recent promotional video for the Premier
League clash between Everton and Manchester City largely ignored Everton.
The video, lasting approximately 49 seconds, failed to mention Everton or showcase any footage
of the team or their supporters from this season.
Instead, it predominantly featured Manchester City’s victory over Everton from the previous season.
The oversight sparked backlash from fans, prompting TNT Sports to delete the video without any apology or acknowledgment.
This incident underscores the evident bias towards the “Big Six” clubs in the Premier League, with so-called smaller clubs often overlooked and disrespected.
Unfortunately, there appears to be little prospect of change in this regard in the near future.
