In the Premier League, Dominic Calvert-Lewin deserves better than the defamation from Everton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has faced considerable criticism this season due to his limited goal-scoring output, having only scored three times for Everton thus far.

His last goal was in October during a 1-0 victory over West Ham, while midfielder

Abdoulaye Doucoure has emerged as the leading scorer for Everton this campaign.

Criticism of Calvert-Lewin has been widespread among both the media and fans,

given his role as a striker with few goals across all competitions.

During Everton’s matches, Richard Keys labeled his performance as “terrible” during

their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, and his display against Crystal Palace also drew surprise from Conor Coady.

However, recent statistics indicate that football personalities may have underestimated Calvert-Lewin’s contributions at Goodison Park.

According to a stat posted by WhoScored via X, Calvert-Lewin’s aerial prowess

has been particularly noteworthy. He won 17 aerial duels against Crystal Palace,

the most by any player in a Premier League match since May 2021, showcasing significant improvement in this aspect of his game.

Given Sean Dyche’s tactical approach, winning aerial challenges is crucial for

Calvert-Lewin to hold up the ball and involve his teammates.

Against Crystal Palace, he demonstrated an impressive 85% win rate in

aerial duels, with a 100% success rate in attempted dribbles and tackles, along with a 71%

success rate in ground duels, highlighting his effectiveness both in attack and defense.

Despite going 19 matches without scoring a goal, Calvert-Lewin remains an integral part of Dyche’s side, as evidenced by his outstanding performance against Palace.

In other Everton news, Alan Stubbs expressed frustration over the team’s recent performances.
