Everton getting ready for life without their star player as Chelsea makes a move
Everton seems resigned to the possibility of parting ways with Jarrad Branthwaite at the conclusion of the season, acknowledging his standout performances throughout the campaign.
The Toffees are preparing for the potential departure of Branthwaite this summer, with interest from Chelsea and other Premier League clubs reportedly looming.
In response, they are keeping tabs on Jacob Greaves from Hull City as a potential replacement for the defender, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in Branthwaite, as per the Daily Mail’s earlier reports in January. Branthwaite, who has featured prominently in 30 matches across various competitions this season, has undeniably emerged as one of the Premier League’s promising young defenders.
However, Everton manager Sean Dyche is unlikely to sanction Branthwaite’s departure
without securing a suitable replacement. Jacob Greaves of Hull City stands out as a potential target for the
Toffees, given his impressive performances in the Championship this season.
Regarding Chelsea’s potential bid for Branthwaite, the Blues possess a seemingly solid
central defensive lineup on paper. Nonetheless, persistent injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Wesley
Fofana, coupled with Thiago Silva’s impending contract expiry, create a need for reinforcement in defense.
Given Chelsea’s financial prowess, their interest in Branthwaite could be appealing
to Everton supporters and the club alike, especially as Branthwaite’s name continues to be linked with the Blues.
