Final obstacle cleared for significant Celtic departure
Liel Abada is said to have completed his medical examination as he gets ready to make the move from Celtic to Charlotte FC.
Despite recently returning from injury and signing a new contract in September,
it appears inevitable that he will be departing the club.
The situation surrounding events in Gaza has overshadowed his football career, and after a disappointing performance against Hibs on February 7, Abada has been left out of Celtic‘s squad,
potentially signaling preparations for a transfer, as hinted by Brendan Rodgers.
Sources indicate that Israeli winger Liel Abada has finalized his medical
assessment ahead of his transfer to Charlotte FC from Celtic.
The deal is expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours, with Abada set to join
Charlotte as a young Designated Player.
Matt Bogert, a writer for The Athletic specializing in MLS transfers, has shared
this information on Twitter, where he has a significant following.
Reportedly, Charlotte FC paid a maximum of 6 million euros for Enzo Copetti
from Racing Club in the 2022/2023 season, with all other acquisitions costing 1 million euros or less.
Scottish media outlets suggest a fee between £8-11 million for Abada.
Given that only MLS clubs can sign the winger, this fee appears to be a remarkable piece of business.
