Andre Gomes is absent from Everton’s practice as new Finch Farm concerns for the Man United match arise.

Andre Gomes missed training on Thursday (7 March), raising concerns for Everton ahead of their game against Manchester United, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. The 30-year-old midfielder is now uncertain for the clash at Old Trafford on Saturday (9 March).

According to the newspaper, Gomes skipped training as a precaution after experiencing an issue this week.

The staff at Finch Farm will evaluate his condition on Friday before determining his availability for the match.

This news is worrying for Everton, given Gomes’ history of injuries throughout the season. The midfielder has endured several spells on the sidelines, and Everton will hope that this latest setback isn’t severe.

Although manager Sean Dyche mentioned in his press conference on Thursday that Idrissa Gueye and Dele Alli are the only other likely absentees for the game against Manchester United, it may not be worth risking Gomes if he’s not fully fit.

Gomes recently returned to action in the 3-1 defeat against West Ham on 2 March after missing the previous five games due to injury.

He has made only six appearances this season, and it seems he’s facing another setback just when he’s back on the pitch.

It’s a frustrating situation for Gomes and Everton, especially considering their battle against relegation. Hopefully, Gomes will recover swiftly and contribute to Everton’s efforts to avoid relegation.
