Brendan Rodgers Unveils Celtic Transfer Strategy for the Next Season as Eager Boss Awaits to Ignite Progress

Brendan Rodgers Eager to Rebuild Celtic Squad with New Players

Brendan Rodgers Affirms Continued Interest in Signing Israeli Players for Celtic Despite Liel Abada’s Departure

The Hoops manager, Brendan Rodgers, remains committed to recruiting Israeli players for Celtic, despite the recent departure of winger Liel Abada to MLS side Charlotte FC. Rodgers expressed regret over Abada’s departure last week, noting that the player had seen limited playing time since returning from injury in December. Despite the geopolitical context, with Israel being involved in conflicts with Palestine, Rodgers remains undeterred in his pursuit of talent from Israel for Celtic.

Following the events, Abada found himself not in the appropriate mental state to continue playing for the club. Despite Rodgers’ attempts to address the issue, the 22-year-old faced significant pressure from fellow Israelis, influenced by Celtic fans’ vocal support for Palestine. Ultimately, Rodgers had to concede defeat and allow Abada to depart for America, with a transfer fee reportedly in the region of £6.5 million.
However, Rodgers remains resolute that the controversy surrounding Abada’s time at Celtic will not deter him from considering Israeli players for future signings. When questioned about the possibility of refraining from signing Israeli players in the future due to such issues, Rodgers emphatically responded, “No, because I prioritize talent and quality above all else. The origin of a player is of no consequence as long as they possess the ability to enhance our squad.”

“We are focused on acquiring talented players, regardless of their nationality or background.
Our priority is to bring in individuals who can seamlessly integrate into our club culture and contribute to our development.
