Despite a challenging start with Chelsea taking the lead with goals from Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer, United remained resilient and equalized before halftime thanks to Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes.
United surged ahead in the second half with a goal from Garnacho assisted by Antony, but Chelsea managed to level the score in the 99th minute with Palmer’s second penalty.
In a final twist, Palmer scored the winning goal just moments later, sealing United’s disappointing yet somewhat expected defeat. Fernandes openly addressed his team’s shortcomings after the match.
