Stephen Warnock has shared his opinion on Nottingham Forest’s first denied penalty decision against Everton from yesterday’s match.
Once again, the Reds are grabbing attention for the wrong reasons, marking a turbulent week. Yesterday, Forest had every right to be upset with the officials, particularly targeting the PGMOL. They were furious over Stuart
Attwell, a Luton fan, being chosen to operate VAR and failing to award them three penalties. Forest expressed their frustration publicly, drawing criticism from Alan Shearer and Micah Richards. Warnock has now weighed in on the game’s incidents, especially the first contentious moment when Giovanni Reyna appeared to be fouled by Ashley Young. Interestingly, Young himself narrowly avoided giving away three penalties, indicating perhaps some luck on his part. Warnock challenged Dermot Gallagher’s assessment that there wasn’t enough contact for a foul, pointing out Young’s immediate reaction as evidence supporting Forest’s case for a penalty.
