In a significant boost to Auburn University’s basketball program, four-star guard Kaden Magwood has committed to the Tigers, choosing them over prominent programs like Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Magwood, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound standout from Combine Academy in North Carolina, is ranked as the No. 62 overall prospect and the No. 15 shooting guard in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Magwood’s decision underscores Auburn’s rising stature in collegiate basketball under head coach Bruce Pearl. The Louisville native expressed that Auburn provided the best home environment, highlighting Pearl’s track record of winning and allowing guards to play freely.
Known for his scoring prowess, Magwood is described as a volume scorer capable of producing numerous baskets in quick succession. He possesses a solid handle, an understanding of space, and good footwork, enabling him to create clean shooting opportunities in various situations. His deep shooting range and athleticism make him a valuable asset to Auburn’s backcourt.
Magwood becomes Auburn’s second commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, joining four-star shooting guard Simon Walker. This addition reflects Auburn’s growing prominence in the college basketball recruiting landscape and its commitment to building a championship-caliber program.
Magwood’s commitment is a testament to Auburn’s appeal and the program’s potential for success in the coming years. As he prepares for his college career, basketball fans will be eager to see how Magwood’s game evolves and how he contributes to Auburn’s pursuit of excellence in the SEC and beyond.
