Corey Barber, a 4-star wide receiver from Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama, has committed to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), citing the program’s consistent recruitment efforts and the sense of being a priority.
Barber’s recruitment gained momentum following a standout junior season in 2024, where he amassed 1,429 yards and 17 touchdowns on 74 receptions. His performance at the Under Armour Atlanta workout, where he clocked a 4.46-second 40-yard dash, further elevated his profile. This led to scholarship offers from several prominent programs, including Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss.
Among these offers, Ole Miss distinguished itself through its persistent and personalized approach. The coaching staff maintained regular communication with Barber, emphasizing his importance to the program. This consistent engagement made Barber feel valued and prioritized, which significantly influenced his decision to commit to the Rebels.
Barber’s commitment adds to Ole Miss’s impressive 2025 recruiting class, which includes 14 four-star prospects and ranks among the top 15 nationally. The class features standout players such as 5-star receiver Caleb Cunningham and fellow four-star receivers Winston Watkins Jr., Dillon Alfred, and Samari Reed.
Looking ahead, Barber is expected to contribute significantly to Ole Miss’s receiving corps. His combination of speed, route-running precision, and playmaking ability positions him as a key asset for the Rebels’ offense in the coming seasons.
In summary, Corey Barber’s commitment to Ole Miss underscores the impact of consistent and personalized recruitment efforts. The program’s dedication to making him feel like a priority played a pivotal role in his decision, highlighting the importance of building strong relationships in the recruiting process.
