“Newcastle United Eyes Summer Moves for Ederson and Onana as Bruno Guimaraes Replacement Amidst £100M Release Clause Speculations”
Newcastle United is reportedly considering summer transfers for Atalanta’s Ederson and Everton’s Amadou Onana as potential replacements for Bruno Guimaraes, according to sources informed by Football Insider.
In the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, transfer correspondent
Pete O’Rourke disclosed that Newcastle is making preparations for the potential departure
of Bruno Guimaraes and has already identified suitable replacements.
Sources revealed to Football Insider on January 25 that the club is
contemplating cashing in on Guimaraes’ £100 million release clause during the summer transfer window.
European giants Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are
reportedly keeping a close eye on Guimaraes’ situation at St James’ Park.
Bruno Guimaraes included the substantial release clause in the
contract he signed in October last year, which is set to expire in June 2028.
Football Insider reported on January 22 that Newcastle cannot afford
a move for Ederson this month, as the Brazilian midfielder’s cost is estimated between £30-40 million.
However, the Magpies may revisit their interest in the summer.
Amadou Onana, who has impressed with Everton this season, is also on Newcastle’s radar.
Football Insider previously disclosed on January 21 that Everton might be compelled to sell Onana if found guilty of their latest financial breach.
Currently, Newcastle occupies the 10th position in
the Premier League table, having suffered four consecutive defeats,
including a recent late defeat against Manchester City on Saturday, January 13.
Their upcoming match is against Fulham in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening, January 27.
