Everton Fans Set to Stage Fresh Protest Against Premier League Points Deduction During Tottenham Match
Everton fans will once again express their dissatisfaction with the Premier League’s treatment of the club during the upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.
The influential Everton supporter group, The 1878s, plans to distribute thousands of yellow cards featuring the Premier League logo to fans before the game on Saturday.
These cards bear the message ‘you don’t know what you’re doing.’
This initiative follows previous displays aimed at highlighting the frustration of Everton supporters regarding the Premier League’s decisions.
The first protest occurred after an independent panel imposed a 10-point deduction on the club for breaching Premier League spending rules.
This severe penalty, coupled with a lack of transparency in explaining its calculation by
the panel, sparked shock and anger in the football community.
The deduction significantly affected Everton’s league standing, pushing them into a
relegation battle despite their apparent progress and financial maturity.
In a subsequent demonstration at Goodison Park during the Manchester United game following the penalty, fans transformed the stadium into a sea of pink with posters questioning the integrity of the Premier League.
