With Aberdeen ‘not miles ahead’ of them, according to Neil Warnock, the Scottish Cup trophy is his goal.

Neil Warnock is confident that Celtic and Rangers are not significantly superior to his Aberdeen team, as he sets his sights on winning the Scottish Cup.

The experienced manager took charge at Pittodrie and began his tenure with a visit to Ibrox, where Aberdeen narrowly lost 2-1 to the hosts.

Despite the defeat, Warnock was pleased with his team’s performance and now looks ahead to a new challenge against Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish Cup.

Known for his ability to cause upsets in cup competitions, Warnock believes that if Aberdeen can navigate past their upcoming lower league opponents, they have the potential to make a serious run in the tournament.

He contends that neither Celtic nor Rangers are unbeatable, citing past performances against both clubs as evidence.

“Previously, Celtic and Rangers seemed to be far ahead of us. But now, I don’t see it that way. They may be stronger than us, but with the right mindset and tactics, we can compete against them.”
