In a formal interview, Ben Godfrey refers to Ashley Young, an Everton player, as a “freak.”
The 26-year-old player recently made his fourth start in the Premier League season during Everton’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City.
He had been sidelined due to injuries and the impressive performances of the young
player, Jarrod Branthwaite. Now, he is back in contention for a regular spot in the starting lineup under manager Sean Dyche.
He attributes his ability to cope with extended periods out of the team to his
relationships with both experienced players at Everton, such as Ashley Young, as well as newer additions.
The player praised Ashley Young, a summer signing at 38 years old, for his knowledge and exceptional performance on the field, stating that Young’s ability to play at his age is remarkable.
Despite facing challenges this season, including a points deduction for financial
fair play irregularities, Everton has managed to stay competitive with
Dyche’s leadership from the sidelines and consistent performances from experienced players like Young.
Currently, Everton is positioned third from the bottom in the league table, but there’s
hope for improvement with players like Young and club captain Seamus Coleman, both seasoned professionals,
providing guidance to the team’s younger members.
Although the return of the player mentioned earlier hasn’t yet translated into a significant
improvement in Everton’s form, his patience and learning from seasoned players like Young and Coleman
suggest that he could become a crucial part of Dyche’s defensive strategy as Everton battles
to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
