failed to live up to his previous potential.
Despite his transfer to Everton, Alli hasn’t made any appearances for the team
this season and is anticipated to depart when his contract expires in the summer.
This disappointing tenure is likely to disappoint Tottenham, particularly Daniel Levy.
Tottenham could have received £10 million if Alli had made 20 appearances for
Everton, but with his current count at only 13, it seems improbable.
Everton, grappling with financial challenges, appears set to avoid this payout.
Alli’s situation is further complicated by a groin injury that required surgery in
January, delaying any potential return to the field.
Everton has expressed support for Alli’s recovery, with manager Sean Dyche
acknowledging that it will take time before Alli is match-fit again.
Last season, Alli spent time on loan at Besiktas, where he struggled to secure a regular
spot and faced criticism from the club’s president, Ahmet Nur Cebi.
Cebi indicated that Alli wouldn’t return to the club due to unmet expectations, though
he expressed hopes for Alli’s personal recovery.
