The team most interested in Amadou Onana is Arsenal.
Amadou Onana of Everton is someone that Arsenal is reportedly very interested in getting before the summer transfer window opens, according to Dean Jones on Give Me Sport.
Everton’s league campaign has been challenging.
The Toffees lost 10 points in November of last year for breaking the Premier League’s rules regarding profit sustainability.
If they break the regulations a second time, they will lose even more points.
Amadou Onana of Everton is reportedly attracting interest from
Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Dean Jones on Give Me Sport.
Everton is facing a challenging league season.
The Toffees received a ten-point deduction in November of last year for breaking
the profit sustainability policy of the Premier League.
For breaking the regulations a second time, they will lose additional points.
The Merseyside club’s current predicament raises questions about their Premier
League future because they face relegation even if they are making an attempt to stay in the competition.
They will have to cash in on some of their biggest stars, such as Amadou
Onana, if they lose to the Championship.
Dean Jones claims that regardless of how Everton’s league season finishes, Onana
and Jarrad Branthwaite are expected to leave in the summer. According to the transfer insider, Arsenal are
the team showing the most serious interest in Onana.
Even if Everton wins the relegation, Jones stated, “Those two are expected
to leave Goodison Park, with Man United on Branthwaite’s case and Arsenal tracking Onana closest right now.”
Mikel Arteta’s admiration for the Belgian international is well known. The 22-year-old
excels when the ball is at his feet and is powerful, quick, and a real presence in the engine room.
Thankfully, Het Nieuwsblad has learned that the midfield player is amenable to
moving to the Emirates in order to further his professional development.
The Dutch report suggests that it will cost around £51m to sign Onana
in the summer but Arsenal have shown recently they are willing to pay big money
to sign their key targets, so they could be
willing to meet Everton’s demands for the 6ft 4in midfielder.
Arsenal isn’t the only team interested, though.Barcelona and Manchester United have
been mentioned by Foot Mercato as possible suitors for Onana, while
Teamtalk has connected Newcastle and Chelsea.
Arsenal might thus be forced into a bidding war.
Though we’ll have to wait and see how things work out in the upcoming months,
I believe Onana would be a great addition and that he could team up with Declan Rice
and Martin Odegaard to form a dangerous midfield trio.
