This Serie A goalkeeper is being watched by Everton; what will he bring to Merseyside?
In a recent update, Calciomercato reported Everton’s interest in Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar, suggesting that the Toffees are closely monitoring the Serbian player ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Svilar, 24, has been enjoying a notable season with the Italian club, particularly showcasing his skills in goal.
He has appeared in 11 matches for Roma this season, conceding ten goals while securing four clean sheets across various competitions.
In European competitions, Svilar has stood out with an average of 0.4 clearances and 3.0 long balls per 90 minutes in the UEFA Europa League.
Additionally, he has maintained a pass completion rate of 76%, highlighting his ability to distribute possession effectively.
Despite Everton‘s interest, Svilar’s current contract with Roma extends until 2027,
posing a potential challenge for the Toffees to secure his services at a reasonable price during the upcoming transfer window.
Regarding his playing style, Svilar is recognized for his reliability in goal, possessing decent
reflexes and proficiency in ball handling. Standing at 1.89 meters tall, he offers a commanding presence in the penalty area.
However, given his limited experience at the highest level, he may require some time to adapt to English football if Everton succeeds in signing him.
Svilar’s potential arrival could enhance Everton’s goalkeeping department and provide competition for Jordan Pickford in the starting lineup in the future.
With Svilar still young at 24, Everton may anticipate further improvement from him,
making a potential deal in the upcoming transfer window a promising prospect.
Nonetheless, patience may be necessary as Svilar settles into his role at Goodison Park
under manager Sean Dyche.
