It is imperative that Sean Dyche contemplate using the 19-year-old academy standout against Manchester United.
Everton suffered a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United on Saturday, missing several key opportunities, including a penalty saved by Alphonse Areola.
With the team struggling to find the back of the net consistently, there’s a suggestion
that manager Sean Dyche should consider starting young forward Francis Okoronkwo from the academy to
address their goal-scoring issues.
Okoronkwo, a 19-year-old striker who joined Everton from Sunderland in 2021, has been prolific for the under-18s and under-21s, scoring 19 goals. Despite his young age, he has shown promise
and versatility, playing as a center-forward and on the flanks in various competitions.
The teenager recently signed a contract extension with Everton, indicating the club’s belief in his potential and providing him with a pathway to the senior team until 2026.
While it might be unexpected to see Okoronkwo immediately thrust into the first team, especially against a formidable opponent like Manchester United, Dyche could consider
pairing him with a more experienced striker, such as Beto.
This partnership could offer a different attacking threat and catch the opposition off guard.
Regardless of the lineup Dyche chooses, it’s crucial for Everton to adopt an attacking
approach against Manchester United to avoid inviting pressure and exploit any
defensive vulnerabilities in their opponents.
