Ten first-team members of Manchester United may be absent for the match against Everton.
Manchester United are facing the possibility of having 10 key players unavailable for their upcoming Premier League encounter against Everton at Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions are looking to recover from consecutive league defeats
to Fulham and Manchester City as they host Sean Dyche’s side this weekend.
These recent losses have hindered Man United’s Champions League aspirations, with the
team currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table.
Throughout the season, injuries have plagued head coach Erik ten Hag’s squad,
and they could be without as many as 10 first-team players for the Everton match.
Seven players are confirmed absentees: Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial,
Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Tom Heaton.
Additionally, Jonny Evans is a doubt after being forced off the field in the last match against Man City due to an injury concern.
Harry Maguire has also missed the team’s recent matches due to an unspecified issue,
making him uncertain for the Everton clash.
Rasmus Hojlund’s fitness is also in question as he has been sidelined for the team’s
last three games with a muscular problem. Although there was initially an estimate of a “two to three weeks”
recovery period, his availability for the Everton game remains uncertain.
On a positive note, Marcus Rashford has returned to training after being substituted
in the Manchester derby due to a knock. He is expected to be fit for the Everton match.
However, if Evans is ruled out, Ten Hag will have to make at least one change from the lineup against Manchester City.
With two more matches before the March international break, including an FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, Manchester United will hope to navigate through their injury concerns and secure positive results.
