Brendan Rodgers may face the absence of one of his key players during Celtic’s critical Premiership title clash with Rangers next month due to a recent injury update.
Earlier this week, Rodgers announced that Luis Palma would be unavailable for Celtic’s upcoming league match against St Johnstone after sustaining an injury. While the manager reassured fans that Palma’s absence wouldn’t be long-term, the player’s participation in international duty for Honduras was still uncertain.
However, Palma has since been forced to withdraw from the Honduras squad after medical tests revealed an issue. The Honduras Football Federation has stated that Palma is expected to be out of action for four weeks as he recovers from a muscle injury in his right leg, meaning he could miss the crucial match against Rangers on April 7.
Palma, who has been instrumental for Rodgers this season with six goals and nine assists in 23 Premiership appearances since joining from Greek side Aris last August for ยฃ3.5 million, was previously linked with Rangers during Michael Beale’s tenure. However, he opted for Celtic instead and has become an integral part of their squad.
