Aston Villa Pursues Additional Striker as Two Players Granted Departure for Adequate Bids

The 23-year-old Canadian international has registered 10 goals in 24 matches this

season and is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United.

Aston Villa is actively monitoring the forward market as they contemplate reinforcing

their squad to enhance their chances of winning trophies this season.

However, they are adopting a patient approach, with Unai Emery emphasizing that new signings must significantly improve the current squad rather than just being additions for the sake of it.

Emery is cautious about disrupting the existing squad balance, stating, “If we are trying to acquire someone, it is because we are very convinced he will elevate our squad’s level. The January window is not very conducive to finding such players.”

Considering the addition of another striker, there is a possibility of Jhon Duran

being allowed to leave on loan. The 20-year-old has reportedly expressed frustration over his limited playing time, although he did start in the recent FA Cup victory against Middlesbrough.

Winger Bertrand Traore and defender Calum Chambers may be allowed to depart if suitable offers materialize.

Despite sitting in second place in the Premier League, Villa is approaching

the transfer market cautiously. Their next match is against Everton on Sunday, with Everton’s striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin available after successfully appealing a red card received in the FA Cup tie with Crystal Palace.

In other news, Villa’s academy has secured the signing of 16-year-old midfielder George Hemmings from Nottingham Forest. The highly-rated prospect, who has represented England at the under-16 level, will initially join Villa’s under-18s squad.
