Ridvan Yilmaz is reportedly set to depart Rangers for Galatasaray as per information from journalist Kadir Çetinçalı. The Turkish club aims for a loan deal, while Rangers prefer a transfer arrangement.
Despite Rangers previously rejecting a loan offer from Galatasaray with a £3.4 million option to buy, Çetinçalı suggests that a new bid is in progress. Yilmaz’s potential move to Hellas Verona, previously linked to a deal involving Josh Doig, fell through with Doig’s exit to Marseille collapsing.
Galatasaray is now actively pursuing Yilmaz. While the transfer is nearing completion, it remains subject to change until officially announced.
Yilmaz, a former Besiktas player, returning to the Super Lig with a rival like Galatasaray is a significant development. The deal, if finalized, could contribute to funding incoming transfers for Rangers, given Yilmaz’s limited starting opportunities during his 18 months at Ibrox.
Philippe Clement, the Rangers manager, must secure a replacement before the transfer deadline to avoid weakening the squad in January.
