Tottenham Hotspur may need to look to the January transfer window for answers after recent
Premier League results revealed their lack of depth in the squad.
Early in the season, the Lilywhites under Ange Postecoglou demonstrated their ability, but a 4-1 loss to Chelsea signaled the first signs of concern.
Due to Cristian Romero’s most recent injury, North London has particularly few options at the center of their defense, which may lead them to sign a certain player.
According to reports, the Lilywhites are reportedly prepared to give something up to seal the deal.

When you consider it, Postecoglou recently stated that Spurs needed a center-back in January. After the window closed, we released Davinson Sanchez.
We were aware that we were somewhat taking a chance when we didn’t get the extra center-back we were hoping for, but that was okay in the first part of the season. But we are without a center-back after we lost Micky [van de Ven] and Eric Dier had some problems.
Young Ash Phillips had recently joined the club, so it’s safe to say that we can’t take the chance of that occurring once more. As a result, that will undoubtedly be our top priority in January.
Again, though, we must select the best candidate. It’s important to get the right person in, which should happen, rather than just bringing another body in.
Having said that, Tottenham Hotspur News reports that the team is ready to trade
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Fulham in order to acquire center-back Tosin Adarabioyo in January.
With just six months remaining on his Craven Cottage contract, the central defender may leave the team early if Fulham accepts Spurs’ possible offer of Hojbjerg plus money.
“Special” Adarabioyo might give the Spurs’ defense much-needed depth.
Spurs only have Ben Davies, a center-back who has played mostly as a left-back throughout his career,
if Romero and Van de Ven are removed from the team.
Adarabioyo is a target as important as Radu Dragusin for the Spurs this month, even though their trade for him may be moving along.
The central defender for Fulham is undoubtedly a favorite of the manager
Marco Silva, who stated, “He is a key player for us.” He is one of the leaders in our
changing room, and he succeeded when we needed these guys to step up. Since he was sidelined for the first three months of the season, we missed him. We value Tosin as a special player, and I can’t hide that.
He is a special player for me because of his ability to defend the box as well as play the way I want to, which is by building (from the back).
We have missed him for the past three months, but in the four or five games that he has played, his performance has steadily improved.
He gave a fantastic performance against Everton, and he deserves all the credit for being able to make the final decision that decided the outcome of the match.
