Wayne Rooney interrupts an offensive chant after Birmingham experiences yet another setback in his managerial career.

Wayne Rooney has called out the unacceptable chant he heard during Birmingham

City’s defeat against Leeds United.

In an attempt to get their season off to a strong start, Rooney’s team went to

Elland Road on Monday afternoon.

But the Blues lost 3-0, with goals from Patrick Bamford,

Dan James and Crysencio Summerville making it another afternoon to forget.

Several taunts were aimed at Birmingham manager Rooney, who is currently

under fire after suffering his ninth loss in 15 games, during the game.

During the game, the away team’s traveling supporters yelled obscenities at the

former England and Manchester United forward.

After the game, Rooney addressed a specific chant that he found offensive.

Beren Cross, a writer for Leeds Live, tweeted: “Rooney on today’s chants.”The Jimmy Saville chant was the only one I didn’t like. didn’t think that was appropriate.

Cross subsequently stated, “It’s hard to recall any Saville chants from the home support today, as many fans are pointing out.”

Not the outcome we wanted, Rooney stated at his press conference following the game. knew the game would be difficult. began well up until the first objective. caused them to have transitional issues. not sufficiently clinical given the available opportunities.

“The first goal made a significant impact on the match. three CBs were added to the system. You can’t let Bamford go free in the six-yard line or he’ll punish you.

“I am a fighter, and I understand football is about opinions,” he continued. The Jimmy Saville chant was the only one that I did not find appealing. didn’t think that was appropriate.

Birmingham is currently seven points above the relegation zone in the Championship standings after losing to Leeds.

Birmingham’s next matchup is with Hull City, another Championship team, this coming weekend in the FA Cup third round.
