Manchester City has officially confirmed its new permanent club captain with the return of Kevin De Bruyne.

De Bruyne, who made a comeback after a five-month absence due to

a hamstring injury, marked his return with an assist in the 5-0 FA Cup third-round victory over Huddersfield Town.

The 32-year-old midfielder, the longest-serving member of the current City squad,

has been with the club since before the arrival of Pep Guardiola and has made 358 appearances, winning 14 trophies, including five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

During De Bruyne’s absence, Kyle Walker assumed captaincy duties, but with the Belgian star’s return,

Walker is now confirmed as the new permanent club captain.

The full captaincy order includes Walker, De Bruyne, Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Bernardo Silva.

Walker took on the captain’s role in the absence of Ilkay Gundogan,

who left in the summer, and now, after the return of De Bruyne, he is officially appointed as the club captain.
