Brentford’s Position Revealed Regarding Frank Onyeka, a Target for Everton, Amid Desire for a Reduced Loan Agreement

Brentford has reportedly decided not to entertain loan offers for Frank Onyeka this month, as per The Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella.

The journalist noted on Sunday (28 January) that potential suitors, including Girona, Reims, Fulham, and Everton, would need to pursue a permanent deal for the midfielder.

Kinsella explained that while Brentford is considering multiple offers for Onyeka, they are unwilling to facilitate a loan move to a Premier League competitor.

Despite interest from Fulham and Everton, Brentford is hesitant to assist a domestic rival by allowing a discounted loan deal, especially as they are currently only six points above the relegation zone.

This decision from Brentford poses a setback for Everton, which has shown interest in a loan arrangement rather than a permanent transfer.

Onyeka has been a crucial part of Brentford’s performance this season, featuring in 18 appearances across various competitions.

The 26-year-old also plays a significant role in the Nigeria national team’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

As the January transfer window progresses, speculation surrounding Onyeka’s future is expected to persist until deadline day.

However, Everton and Fulham are likely to face disappointment in their pursuit, as Brentford appears resolute in not allowing Onyeka to join a direct competitor.

Fulham is just two points ahead of Brentford in the Premier League table, while Everton trails Thomas Frank’s side by five points.
