Sean Dyche’s Reaction Speaks Loudly About Everton’s Recent Penalty Denial

Sean Dyche expressed a resigned reaction to the controversial decision denying Everton a penalty in a hard-fought draw against Fulham.

Despite what seemed to be valid claims for a penalty when Antonee Robinson’s left hand

was struck by the ball, VAR reviewed the incident but opted not to intervene.

Officials concluded that the contact was accidental, and Robinson’s arm seemed to be by his side.

This decision added to a series of questionable calls going against Everton, the only

Premier League team yet to be awarded a penalty this season.

Dyche, commenting on the situation, humorously remarked, “We can’t get a penalty, you know that, we haven’t had a penalty.”

Despite being a supporter of VAR in general, Dyche acknowledged confusion surrounding handball decisions.

After 22 league games, Everton is still awaiting their first penalty of the season.

Dyche believed there was another potential penalty opportunity in the second half when Jack Harrison seemed to be fouled in the box.

Reflecting on the Robinson incident, Dyche expressed a shared sense of uncertainty among managers regarding handball decisions, stating, “I think we are all a bit – certainly the managers with handball – a bit lost with it.”

Despite the frustrations, Dyche acknowledged the challenges faced by a team that has yet to receive a penalty.
