Unexpected Development in Rangers Defender Ridvan Yilmaz Transfer Situation – Included in Three-Player Shortlist
Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is reportedly part of a three-player shortlist, alongside Frank Fabra and Nicolas Tagliafico, being considered by Galatasaray, as per Aksam.
Although Yilmaz is open to the move, an agreement with Rangers is yet to be finalized.
A deal with Philippe Clement is in progress, pending the resolution of the final transfer price.
The ongoing Yilmaz transfer saga is marked by continuous twists and turns, leaving uncertainty about his destination.
With less than 48 hours remaining until the deadline on February 2, predicting whether he
will remain with Rangers is challenging.
The potential departure of Jefte could play a pivotal role, and once his move is confirmed,
clarity may emerge regarding Yilmaz’s future with the Turkish international.
This would result in three left-backs in the first team, and despite Borna Barisic’s contract
expiring at the end of the season, there seems to be no immediate urgency to sell him.
This decision may be surprising, given that Rangers could generate immediate revenue by selling
Barisic, especially with a replacement already lined up.
However, if a left-back is to leave this month, the expectation is that it would be Yilmaz, not Barisic.
