Stuttgart Makes Late Bid for Mason Holgate as Sheffield United Transfer Speculations Emerge at Everton

German club Stuttgart has inquired about Everton defender Mason Holgate, as reported by the Daily Mail. Sheffield United is also considering Holgate, although they have a pre-existing agreement for Leicester City center-back Harry Souttar.

Currently on loan at Championship club Southampton, Holgate has had limited playing time, making only seven appearances in all competitions for the Saints. Everton manager Sean Dyche has consistently

conveyed a message of a quiet transfer window.

Holgate’s departure from Goodison Park last summer aimed at securing more playing minutes, but his time at Southampton has not gone as planned.

With only five league appearances and two in the FA Cup for his temporary club, both Holgate and Everton may be dissatisfied with the lack of playing time.

There is now a possibility for Holgate to exit his Southampton stint with interest from Stuttgart and Sheffield United. However, loaning a player to a direct Premier League rival like Sheffield United might be a risk for Everton, considering the Blades’ struggle to stay in the top flight.

A move to the German side Stuttgart could be a more sensible option for Holgate for the remainder of the season, especially given Sheffield United’s existing agreement for Leicester center-back Souttar.
