Everton Fails to Secure Versatile Player on Transfer Deadline Day – Club Unimpressed with Toffees’ Offer
Everton, alongside Sporting, faced disappointment in their endeavors to secure the signing of Watford’s Yáser Asprilla on the recent deadline day.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra shared this information on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that both clubs attempted to lure the 20-year-old away from Watford with offers.
However, Sierra did not disclose the specifics of these proposals, only noting that the figures presented by Everton and Sporting were insufficient to satisfy Watford, resulting in the unsuccessful bids by the Toffees and the Portuguese club.
Asprilla, primarily operating on the right wing and occasionally in other positions, has contributed four goals and five assists in 29 games for Watford this season.
Despite rejecting advances from Everton and Sporting, Valérien Ismaël’s team is
hopeful that Asprilla will make a significant impact for the club, his national team, and potentially attract
more favorable offers in the upcoming summer.
As the Colombian player’s contract extends until 2026, it remains uncertain whether Everton will revisit their interest in the future.
