Ange Postecoglou’s position regarding the £190k-per-week Tottenham player’s absence prior to the Everton match

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has expressed his support for club captain Son Heung-min potentially missing upcoming games to pursue his dream of winning the Asian Cup with South Korea.

Son, who earns £190,000 per week, played a crucial role in South Korea’s victory over

Postecoglou’s Australia, securing a spot in the Asian Cup semi-final against Jordan.

Son has not played for Tottenham in 2024 due to his national team commitments, and South Korea hasn’t won the Asian Cup since 1960.

When asked about Son’s potential absence for Tottenham’s upcoming

matches, Postecoglou sees it as a “win-win” situation.

As an Australian, he would love for South Korea to advance so that they could have Son back.

However, he also acknowledges the significance of the Asian Cup to Son and his country.

Postecoglou expresses admiration for Son’s contributions to the game and his nation, stating

that while he would be disappointed if Australia is eliminated, he would be

pleased to see Son achieve his dream, even if it means missing a couple more games for Tottenham.
