Jose Cifuentes bids the Rangers farewell in a frank manner as the misfit ends the Cruzeiro loan with three words.
Jose Cifuentes, previously with Rangers, has delivered a straightforward statement following his departure for a loan stint at Brazilian Serie A side Cruzeiro.
The Ecuadorian midfielder, signed by former Rangers coach Michael Beale in August for £1.2 million from Los Angeles FC, has been loaned out by manager Philippe Clement after failing to meet expectations.
Despite Beale’s anticipation that Cifuentes would elevate the team’s performance, he struggled to impress Clement, with his final appearance for Rangers being in a Europa League win over
Real Betis in December, followed by a red card against Dundee shortly after.
Now, the 24-year-old has joined Cruzeiro on a one-year loan, with the club having the option to purchase him permanently.
Cifuentes, who initially signed a four-year contract upon his arrival in the Scottish
Premiership, has broken his silence on the move, expressing his readiness to “reset and go” via Instagram.
Despite making 20 appearances for Rangers across all competitions this season,
he only managed two assists and failed to score.
